Take a Break, Read, and Unwind in the Hammock
This project is a Character Design based on myself. Starting in 2020 when we were all inside and the pressure was high, I needed a way to rest my mind and let go of the stress of the world. I bought a hammock and it became my daily meditation, quiet space to recharge.
It started with a simple sketch that was at first a lot more stylized and simplified. As the modeling progress, it changed to a more detailed character but it kept the simplified facial expressions. The body was modeled in a A-pose position because I knew I would be doing a manual, joint tool rigging process.
For the rigging, I manually penned the joint and rigged the controllers. I also utilized Xpresso for the facial expressions - blinks, mouth shapes, and eyebrows. Positioning him in the hammock was easy enough with all the controllers attached. And the best part is, he is rigged for his next adventure!
